Milling
Milling is a targeted method of road maintenance, removing a specific layer of asphalt to combat surface imperfections. Well-suited for roads with surface cracks, fillers, heaves, ruts, or potholes, this process provides a smooth and even surface to apply a new layer of asphalt. By removing the damaged surface, milling eliminates the underlying causes of these imperfections.
The milled material, Recycled Asphalt Pavement, is then transported to one of our facilities, where it is 100% recycled and reused in future asphalt mixes. This recycling system exemplifies our unwavering commitment to sustainability. PULVERIZING (RECLAIMING)
Pulverizing, or reclaiming, is an extensive process that digs deeper than surface repairs. It grinds up the entire depth of existing asphalt layers along with a portion of the underlying aggregate base, recycling the old road in place. This solution creates a stronger, more stable base upon which a new asphalt surface can be laid.
Not only does it decrease the need for new aggregate, lowering project costs, but it also improves load-bearing capacity, lowering the risk of future cracking. This process is ideal for roads with extensive cracking, rutting, or other structural issues, offering a sustainable and long-lasting solution.
Grading
Proper grading is essential for maintaining gravel or pulverized roads in the long term.
